WE ARE NOT DEAD by Lalage Snow
Lalage Snow's photo series "We Are Not Dead."was very intriguing to me as someone interested in photography. It is quite amazing how well she is able to portray the unfiltered feelings and experiences of soldiers prior to, during, and after their deployment to Afghanistan.
The images are not only stunning, but they also serve as a powerful tool for storytelling by bringing to light the harsh realities of war. The accompanying remarks from the soldiers add even more layers of depth and passion to the already powerful visuals created by master compositionist Snow.

I think Snow's ability to establish a sense of familiarity with the soldiers she pictures is particularly striking. She captures them in their most vulnerable moments, allowing us to sense the psychological and physical toll that war has taken on their lives
I am motivated by Snow's work and her dedication to removing barriers between citizens and the military as a photographer. She advocates for empathy, compassion, and the necessity of more robust support for those who have served through her photographs.
