WE ARE NOT DEAD by Lalage Snow

  Lalage Snow's photo series " We Are Not Dead ."was very intriguing to me as someone interested in photography. It is quite amazing how well she is able to portray the unfiltered feelings and experiences of soldiers prior to, during, and after their deployment to Afghanistan. The images are not only stunning, but they also serve as a powerful tool for storytelling by bringing to light the harsh realities of war. The accompanying remarks from the soldiers add even more layers of depth and passion to the already powerful visuals created by master compositionist Snow. We Are Not Dead I think Snow's ability to establish a sense of familiarity with the soldiers she pictures is particularly striking.
